Shellac in flakes or ready to use

Shellac is a natural resinous substance produced by insect bites on oriental trees such as ficus religiosa or ficus indica. Through a long process of processing and purification, these flakes of golden brown are obtained which are then used for finishing pads of furniture and wooden surfaces in general. A good quality of shellac can be recognized by the large light-colored flakes and the low quantity of residue that leaves when it reaches the complete solution. It dissolves in alcohol with an alcohol content greater than 94 °.
