Villa Sagredo - Vigonovo (VE) Italy

Project: Set within the landscape of the Brenta Riviera, between Venice and Padua, Villa Sagredo embodies centuries of history and architectural transformations. The intervention within the interiors of the historic barchessa was conceived to preserve this identity, creating a dialogue between the exposed brickwork and continuous surfaces with a natural appearance.

For the finishing of walls and ceilings, Iso Lime by Isocolor, a mineral lime-based paint, was selected. The subtle shade enhances the natural brightness of the interiors without competing with the chromatic richness and irregular texture of the historic brickwork.

The intervention also involved the exposed brick walls. The surfaces were carefully brushed and cleaned to remove dust, then protected with a water-repellent treatment.

The decision to preserve extensive portions of exposed brickwork, following its deliberately irregular transition into the finished surfaces, makes the architectural layers of the building clearly visible. The contrast between the brick, with its chromatic and material variations, and the light mineral finish gives the interiors an understated, contemporary character while preserving their historic identity.
